A person spends around 1/3 of his life with a some sort of a mattress, but there comes a time when that individual cannot get rid of it fast enough. You know that feeling. Right? If you are that person, then you probably need to examine your options, in getting rid of your old mattress. This article will help you choose the right disposing method.
Selling your mattress
Most people would think of that option, and I don’t blame them. The buyer will give you some money, and you won’t have to worry about transporting it. You may want to give it a try, but don’t expect too much success, unless the mattress is in really good condition. Buyers fear bedbugs infestations, and for that reason, there aren’t many looking to buy an used mattress.
Donating your mattress
This may work too, but like the buyers, most charities have strict policy on not taking old mattresses, due to the bedbug problems. Again, you are welcome to try this road, and if this does work, then move onto the next solutions.
Taking the mattress to the dump
This option is advisable, if you happen to have the right transportation. A pickup truck or a Van is sufficient. Renting one, is not economical at all. Once the rent of the vehicle is included, and the dumping fees are added, you are saving maybe $20, for 2 hours of your day. Unless you are curious to see the dump, it is not a nice place to go to.
Hiring a junk removal company to dispose of your mattresses
This is the easiest option, but it will cost you the most. Head for the Internet and search for mattress removal Vancouver. Look at the different companies websites, and make sure their rates are final. Some companies would not tell you about hidden fees until they load your mattress. Call around and get answers for these questions. Then you can schedule an appointment and they will haul away your mattress. It is a good idea, to give them few days advanced notice, so they can include you in their next mattress pick up schedule. It will be rare for them to agree to pick it up on the same day, or next day for that matter.
Price of mattress removal in Vancouver
Price range is anywhere from $80 to $120, depending on the company. A mattress is more expensive than regular junk, because it is carries recycling fees. While, we are on the topic of rates, keep in mind that if you have a boxspring with the mattress, this is considered another mattress. If there are more than 1 mattress, or boxspring, every additional one has a lower disposal rate. For example, two mattresses, or 1 mattress and 1 boxspring, would be around $120-$140.
